we tried to make sure the backside didn't get forgotten when doing battle with the budget. so often the least
prominent facades end up looking like backstage. we got to keep the fascia to maintain the thickened roof
graphic line, which i think alone constitutes a win. but we had to settle for painted shiplap siding instead of open-
joint to mimic the screen on the opposite facade. we did get to pull off some clean details (again, pat morrison's
metal work around the windows made me incredibly happy - that fascia went on after the windows went in and
you would never know it). and i can just pretend like our directive of putting the dwp/gas meters on the carport
instead of the addition was followed correctly. (at least its the back).
